This is my first celebrity blog entry for Today.com! Wooo! The other day I swore to myself that if I ever wrote another Lindsay or Britney piece, I would stick a dirty needle in my eye. Dammit! It’s gonna hurt! I’m sorry guys.. but you know they’re your guilty pleasure. Admit it! Britney Spears wasn’t last week’s top searched music artist on Yahoo! for no reason.  Actually, there was no reason, was there? Oh wait… she’s still fighting for her kids, isn’t she.  Custody battles aside, Spears is making her second appearance on CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother” tonight at 8:30 pm as her character Abby. She plays a ditzy receptionist, who is using Barney (Neil Patrick Harris, aka Doogie Howser) as male bait for her love interest Ted.  To be honest, I never heard of the show until Britney made her first appearance.  She wasn’t too shabby for a  car-crashing, divorced mother of two that just got a psychiatric evaluation not too long ago. Good timing, awkward acting. Ya know what I mean? But not bad.According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Spears’ first visit resulted in “Mother” hitting its highest rating ever. The show has since maintained an elevated audience level compared to last year.” There are flying rumors that she will be coming back for a third appearance. The producers were probably like, “Baby… one more time”. Cheesy joke, I know. I had to.So apparently, Spears is the show’s key marketing strategy. And the show is Spears’ key maternal strategy. It’s a perfect example of mutual symbiosis!  (Man, what a throwback to BIO 101)  Hmm… does this make me a parasite? Whatever. Will Britney make her comeback through the small screen or will we see her crash and burn like she did on last year’s MTV Video Music Awards?? The thought of those images still make me shutter. *uuuugh* But I’ve got my fingers crossed for her.  Oh yes, before I go. The guiltiest of all guilty pleasures has its season finale tonight.  MTV’s The Hills.  Dun-dun-dun. Check back tomorrow where we can trash talk about all the staged drama that we love to hate :)
